Welcome to Cantrell Educational Supplies and ClassMechanics.com!
We are Randy and Kat Cantrell and our home office is in beautiful Lincoln, Nebraska.
Randy is a university professor, and Kat has worked as a preschool teacher and para educator,
and now devotes most of her time to Cantrell Educational Supplies, with the occasional substitue day worked in.
We have both watched the quality of presentation in education evolve from the time we were students into our
teaching years. From no computers, to a mainframe that took up an entire classroom, to computers in every room.
From the old chalk and eraser boards (oh, the DUST!) to shiny clean whiteboards. From old brick buildings to schools
with quality controlled air! Makes us sound real old, doesn't it But all this has happened in just a 20 year span!
We became very interested in the products you see on our site when we met John Hirst, owner and creator of
Norwood Tutors Educatonal Products, based in Tasmania, Australia. He told us about these innovative products,
and then showed them to us, and we could see the quality and usefulness right away.
John is a retired teacher, and noticed over the years that blackboards in the schools were slowly being replaced
by magnetic whiteboards. Whiteboards are dust free,creating a healthier atmosphere for those with allergies and
asthma, and are much safer for the computers, because the chalk dust from the old blackboards wreaks havoc on
the computers found in nearly every classroom these days.
John also noticed that the blackboard tools that had been in use for ages just didn't work well on the whiteboards.
So, he retired early and set to work.
With much input from other teachers, he has created some great products that have been designed specifically for use on whiteboards.
After meeting John, and seeing his products, we ran a couple of test markets, talked to some teacher friends of
ours, and knew that these products would be a hit in America. So we became the North American Distributors for Norwood Tutors Educational Products.
We knew that the strength of these products was that they had been designed by teachers FOR teachers.
